August Groom makes an elegant companion to August Bride and they are both excellent dormant daylilies that should grow well anywhere in the north.  August Groom is a formal dark burgundy with darker eye that is an excellent contrast to the cream white of August Bride.  August Groom combines good garden traits with being an easy to use parent both ways.  The pollen parent was a dormant line bred Benz red and we have gotten nice red seedlings from August Groom.
