Perhaps the most striking color of all the Winter Thrillers™ hellebores, ‘Red Racer’ produces very large 3½”, dramatic velvety deep red to burgundy red flowers.  Such an unusual color to see in the garden in early to mid-spring!  The perfectly rounded flowers are held atop strong stems, with mature plants producing an incredible 75 or more blooms per plant. 

The evergreen foliage is attractive in its own rite, emerging a dark mahogany color in early spring before maturing to dark green.  It provides a superb complement to the red blossoms.
